We called for an estimate to replace 2 oxygen sensors on our 2004 GMC Envoy. They quoted us part costs that were on average 150.00 for each sensor and then said it would take them 4 hours at a labor cost of 465.00 and then when the woman quoted us the total cost she said it would cost a total of about 1200.00 to do the entire job. Those figures didn't add up. When questioned about length of labor, they also claimed they would have to drop the catalytic converter, which was quite a process. Maybe she wasn't listening when we told her she was talking to an actual mechanic, but the cost of both o2 sensors at our local Autozone for a 2004 GMC Envoy is an average of 50.00 per part and the approximate time for labor to replace them is on average 30 minutes to an hour. At most no one should ever pay a mechanic more than 500.00 to do this, and that is alot...but 1200.00? Needless to say we have purchased the parts ourselves and will plug in and feed the wires through ourselves. Honest 1 Auto is not so honest and after that quote I wonder if their mechanics know what they are doing.
